Love of Art February 2012 –Lundeen Inn of the Arts
City of Artists is featured at the Lundeen Inn of the Arts for February Love of Art 2012. The Inn is among the premier sites for artists to show their work, and the reception held on Saturday, February 4, 2 to 4 pm was a great success. Our gracious hostess, Linda Lundeen, greeted the artists and guests with her special “New Mexico Style.” The art will be on display until March 6, 2012, and visitors can view the art of the City of Artists participants along with other pieces featured by the Inn at 618 S. The City Council in Las Cruces, NM, has begun an Art on Loan Program which invites local artists to show their work. This program not only supports the efforts of local artists, but it provides a message to New Mexico that Las Cruces is an art destination! City of Artists was instrumental in the creation of this new program, and it gives us great pride to see that the City of Las Cruces is showcasing one of our members through 2012. Rebecca Courtney’s painting, “Chaco Canyon Mysteries,” acrylic, 48x36, $850.00, leads the viewer into the ageless doorways of Chaco Canyon. It can be seen at City Hall, Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm.
